India proposes global AI standards for responsible deployment

India aims to establish global common minimum standards for AI deployment at an upcoming summit. The initiative includes creating an open-source repository of AI solutions for key sectors and a "trust commons" for safe, ethical AI deployment, with a focus on the Global South. India will also join a US-led semiconductor supply chain partnership and is prioritizing smaller AI models for domestic needs over frontier LLMs.
