India now leads U.S. smartphone imports

India has surpassed China as the top exporter of smartphones to the U.S. Indian-assembled smartphones constituted 44% of U.S. imports in Q2, a substantial rise from 13% last year, with total volumes increasing 240%. This shift is largely driven by Apple's efforts to diversify manufacturing away from China due to trade uncertainties.
