India must become a leading producer of clean-energy technologies, not merely a consumer, to secure energy security through resilient manufacturing supply chains, Steel Minister H D Kumaraswamy said Thursday. Speaking at a CII conference in New Delhi, he said steel underpins renewables, batteries, and hydrogen. India targets 300 million tonnes of steelmaking capacity by 2030.
