India approves new greenfield and brownfield airports in Bihar
The central government has approved the construction of a greenfield airport in Rajgir and a brownfield airport in Raxaul. New civil enclaves will also be built at Bihta and Purnia airports, as announced by Union minister Murlidhar Mohol. A team from the Airports Authority of India will conduct an Obstacle Limitation Surface survey at the Rajgir site on February 6. The Bihar government has identified about 1,200 acres of land for the new airport, located near Nalanda University. Construction is set to begin soon at Bihta and Purnia airports, with commercial flights expected to start afterward. The Bihta airport requires additional land for runway expansion, with the district administration working on land acquisition.
