India and Belgium sign 10 deals to double trade, boost defence and tech ties

India and Belgium announced 10 key outcomes during Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever's visit to New Delhi, setting a target to double bilateral trade to $26 billion and expanding cooperation in defence, technology, and clean energy. The agreements include a Letter of Intent on Defence Cooperation, an investment fast-track channel, and an MoU on green hydrogen and renewable energy. India will also place a resident Defence Attache in Brussels, and the CBI signed an MoU with Belgian Federal Police on cybercrime. Belgium condemned the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, and both leaders affirmed a unified stance against terrorism. The visit also covered maritime logistics via the Port of Antwerp, healthcare mobility for Indian nurses, and academic exchanges, with broader India-EU trade and security partnerships reviewed.
