In Malaysia, claims for PERKESO's Lindung 24 Jam scheme more than triple in July

Claims under PERKESO’s Lindung 24 Jam scheme more than tripled in July, rising to 2,135 cases from 616 in June, highlighting the need for social protection beyond working hours. From July 1 to 31, over 90% of claims were approved within five days, with RM3.45 million paid to 2,508 recipients. Rehabilitation equipment and implants accounted for the largest share, exceeding RM2.5 million. The scheme took effect June 1, with cumulative claims reaching 2,751 and total payments of RM4.69 million. Voluntary for Malaysian workers, PERKESO urged maintaining coverage amid rising outside-work accidents.
