Imabari City students pledge to become adults at junior high school ceremony

Sakurai Junior High School in Imabari City held a Coming-of-Age Ceremony for its second-year students on February 4th, marking their step towards adulthood. The ceremony, rooted in the ancient "Genpuku" ritual, aims to instill a sense of responsibility in 14-year-old students. A representative student delivered a speech vowing to reflect on their actions and support their peers. Following the ceremony, students participated in an environmental activity, planting seagrass seeds to protect the local marine ecosystem, reinforcing their commitment to the community.
