IIT Madras completes India's first Hyperloop test track aiming for 25-minute Mumbai-Pune travel time
IIT Madras has completed India's first Hyperloop test track, measuring 410 meters. This project aims to create a high-speed travel system that could cut the journey time between Mumbai and Pune to just 25 minutes. The Hyperloop project is being developed by the Avishkar Hyperloop team at IIT Madras, in collaboration with the startup TuTr. The first phase includes an 11.5-kilometer test track, with plans for a 100-kilometer expansion if successful. The Hyperloop system promises to be faster than air travel, with ticket prices expected to be around Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500. This technology, originally proposed by Elon Musk, uses pressurized pods in vacuum tubes to achieve high speeds.
