IDF operations chief resigns after sexual misconduct investigation

Brigadier General Yisrael Shomer resigned from the IDF after a sexual misconduct investigation. Shomer was questioned over a consensual relationship with a subordinate officer. He took responsibility and immediately submitted his resignation, which was accepted by the Chief of Staff. Shomer held a senior position in the Operations Branch and had a notable career, including a controversial incident in 2015 where he fatally shot a Palestinian teenager.
