ICC launches Champions Trophy Tour in Pakistan ahead of 2025 tournament

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has launched the Global Trophy Tour for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, starting in Islamabad. The trophy will travel through eight countries before arriving in Pakistan on January 27, 2025. The tour will feature stops in major cities like Karachi, Abbottabad, and Taxila, showcasing the trophy at landmarks such as Faisal Mosque and the Pakistan Monument. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that India will not participate in the tournament, complicating the event's future. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met with the England and Wales Cricket Board chief, who expressed support for Pakistan's hosting of the tournament. Naqvi stated that Pakistan is prepared for the Champions Trophy, with upgrades to stadiums and special protocols for visiting teams.
