Hurricanes defeat Canucks 2-0 with goals from Staal and Svechnikov

Jordan Staal and Andrei Svechnikov led the Carolina Hurricanes to a 2-0 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on January 11. Staal scored his ninth goal of the season, while Svechnikov added another, marking consecutive wins for the Hurricanes. Dustin Tokarski recorded a shutout with just 14 saves, his first since March 2022. The Canucks struggled offensively, managing only 14 shots and going 0-for-3 on power plays, extending their losing streak to four games. Elias Pettersson returned for the Canucks after a six-game absence but did not register a shot on goal. The Hurricanes have now won six of their last seven home games.
