Hundreds honor Milwaukee Alderman Jonathan Brostoff at funeral service

Hundreds attended the funeral of Milwaukee Alderman Jonathan Brostoff, who died by suicide on Monday. The service took place at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a location significant to Brostoff's life, including his bar mitzvah and wedding. Brostoff's wife, Diana Vang-Brostoff, spoke about his struggles with mental health and urged kindness. Friends and colleagues shared personal stories, highlighting his commitment to justice and unity. They emphasized the importance of checking in on loved ones. In Brostoff's memory, the Friendship Circle of Wisconsin will hold 41 suicide prevention trainings. The first session is scheduled for November 21 at the Kelly Senior Center in Cudahy.
