Huawei launches HarmonyOS mobile operating system independent of Google
Huawei has launched HarmonyOS, a new mobile operating system that operates independently of Google and Android. This development comes with the introduction of the Huawei Mate 70 smartphone, marking a significant step in Huawei's goal to create a self-sufficient tech ecosystem. The launch follows challenges from the US-China trade war, which cut Huawei off from American suppliers, including Google. In response, Huawei developed its own hardware and software, allowing it to control both aspects, similar to Apple's approach with iOS. HarmonyOS aims to enhance user experience with features like advanced camera technology and gesture-based file transfers. Huawei plans to expand its app ecosystem, targeting over 15,000 apps, as it seeks to establish itself as a major player in the global tech market.
