Huawei develops new scaling law for advanced chip development

Huawei announced a new scaling law and chip architecture that could achieve 1.4nm transistor density by 2031. The Tau Scaling Law, also known as Her's Law, replaces geometric miniaturization with time scaling. Huawei has used it to design and mass produce 381 chips in six years. The new Kirin chips launching this year will feature the LogicFolding architecture. Huawei is also developing Ascend AI chips and Kunpeng processors to meet domestic demand.
