Houthis threaten strikes on Saudi oil sites after Riyadh offensive

spiegel.de (German) —

The Houthi militia is threatening to escalate its conflict with Saudi Arabia by targeting all oil facilities in the neighboring country, warning of further attacks on critical infrastructure. The threat follows a renewed offensive by Yemeni government forces, backed by Saudi Arabia, to reclaim territory from the Houthis. Saudi air defenses intercepted several projectiles, including rockets fired at Riyadh, causing debris damage to a kindergarten and a clinic. Lufthansa has suspended flights to Riyadh after recent attacks on Saudi airports killed three people. The Houthis, who claimed those attacks, have called on airlines to avoid Saudi Arabia, except for areas over Mecca and Medina.
