Houthi strikes on Riyadh airport mark most intense attack on Saudi capital in eight months
Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed three strikes on Riyadh's airport Thursday, marking the most intense attack on the Saudi capital in eight months of regional war, with aircraft damaged and a school hit by missile fragments. Saudi civil defense reported missile debris falling after an interception, damaging a kindergarten and medical complex. Diplomats sheltered in the diplomatic quarter, businesses evacuated staff, and international schools moved children to basements. Washington advised heightened vigilance and restricted employee travel to the airport. The Houthis, who control Sanaa and much of Yemen, have also targeted Saudi oil facilities since hostilities resumed in July. Over 400 people have died in Yemen since Monday's government offensive, with more than 200,000 displaced, according to the International Organization for Migration.
