Houthi missiles destroy Saudi airliner at Riyadh airport
Yemen’s Houthi rebels destroyed a Saudi Arabian Airlines passenger jet at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on Thursday, using two cruise missiles in an attack that set the aircraft ablaze, with casualties unclear. The Houthis claimed simultaneous strikes on Najran airport and Khamis Mushait air base, while the Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted three ballistic missiles. Air India and Lufthansa suspended flights to Riyadh, and the US restricted employee travel to the airport. The attack follows fatal strikes earlier this week that killed three people and wounded 36, amid renewed fighting since July’s truce collapse. Ground battles raged in Taiz governorate, with both sides claiming advances, as the conflict deepens Yemen’s humanitarian crisis.
