Houthi missile strikes on Riyadh airport kill three, including pilot
Three people, including an airline pilot, were killed in missile attacks on Riyadh's international airport Thursday, Saudi Arabia said, after Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed a series of strikes on the facility. Two missile attacks targeted the capital's airport and a Saudia Airlines aircraft, killing three citizens, according to Saudi civil aviation authorities. The national carrier confirmed pilot Hamoud Ali Alkalthami's death Friday, while diplomats took shelter and dozens of flights were delayed or canceled. The Houthis, who control Yemen's capital Sanaa, also warned employees to evacuate Saudi oil facilities after striking a refinery. Saudi-backed government forces claim progress in a Red Sea counter-offensive, but the rebels say they hold their positions, with over 200,000 displaced since July.
