Houthi missile attacks kill three Saudis at Riyadh airport
Three Saudi nationals were killed in Houthi missile attacks on Riyadh's international airport, including a pilot for state carrier Saudia, with additional injuries reported among citizens and residents. The attacks mark an escalation in the conflict between the Iran-backed group and Saudi Arabia. The first attack targeted the airport, while the second struck a Saudia aircraft, according to the General Authority of Civil Aviation. The Houthis claimed responsibility, saying they also targeted an airport in Najran and Khamis Mushait air base, though Saudi Arabia has not confirmed those strikes. The deaths follow three other fatalities in Houthi attacks on Saudi airports on October 6 and 7. The group says it is retaliating for Saudi support of Yemen's government and airstrikes, amid renewed fighting that has included Houthi seizures of Red Sea coast territory.
