Houthi attack on Riyadh airport forces flight cancellations
Saudi Arabia's King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was attacked again on Saturday, marking at least the third such strike since Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels announced a major offensive on Saudi targets on October 5. The attack forced the airport to suspend operations and evacuate. Witnesses and local officials reported loud explosions at the airport, with dozens injured and at least five in intensive care, most of them Saudi nationals. Airlines including Kuwait Airways, Etihad, Qatar Airways, Lufthansa, and Air India canceled or suspended flights to Riyadh, while the airport advised passengers to check with carriers. The Houthis have claimed near-daily ballistic missile attacks on Riyadh and other Saudi targets since October 5, following the Saudi-led coalition's launch of "Dawn of Yemen" operation to retake Houthi-held territory. Previous strikes on the airport killed three people on October 6-7 and three more on October 8.
