Housing inventory and sales rise in Boulder County and across the U.S. in October
In October 2024, housing inventory and sales increased significantly across the U.S. Active listings rose nearly 30% compared to October 2023, marking the highest level since December 2019. Existing home sales also grew by 3.4% nationwide. Boulder County mirrored these national trends, with single-family home inventory up 29% year-over-year and condo inventory rising 64%. Sales of single-family homes increased over 20% from September to October 2024. Despite rising inventory, median home prices in Boulder County fell 10.8% year-over-year to $775,000. The market is now classified as balanced, providing buyers with more options and time to make decisions.
