House GOP report finds colleges inadequately address antisemitism on campuses
A House Education and the Workforce Committee report found that many universities have not adequately addressed antisemitism on campuses, particularly following the October 7 Hamas attack. The investigation revealed that most students accused of antisemitic acts faced minimal disciplinary action. The report examined 11 universities, including Harvard and UCLA, and concluded that university leaders failed to support Jewish students and did not effectively discipline antisemitic behavior. It criticized schools for creating a hostile environment and for their indifference to antisemitic harassment. In response, the Department of Education stated it is committed to investigating antisemitism complaints. Some universities, like Harvard, are updating their policies to better support Jewish students and address antisemitism on campus.
