Hong Kong university champions fall to Yonsei in Asian University Basketball Challenge

Hong Kong's City University, the 2023-24 intercollegiate champions, lost 89-49 to Yonsei University in the opening match of the Asian University Basketball Challenge. This tournament features top teams from the region, including Tsinghua and Peking universities. The event is a test for a new pan-regional collegiate league, set to launch in the second half of 2025. The league is sanctioned by the Asian University Sports Federation and operated by Realeauge, which recently signed a 10-year agreement.
