Hong Kong is planning to change its laws to allow passenger drones. This announcement came from Mable Chan, the Secretary for Transport and Logistics, during a press conference on Sunday. The government is working on the second phase of drone testing. This phase will expand the areas where drones can operate. Previously, they focused on food delivery, document transport, and medical supply logistics. The new tests will happen in places like the Science Park and Cyberport. Chan mentioned that the second phase will use drones that can carry passengers. However, current laws do not allow for this. She emphasized that safety is a top priority and that passenger flights may not start soon. The government will conduct over 30 trial projects in the next six months to assess the drones' capabilities.
