Hong Kong referee Michael Chan navigates dual career in basketball and electronics

Michael Chan Ho-ming is a rising basketball referee in Hong Kong, holding both 3x3 and regular-basketball licenses. He is the only Fiba international referee in the city with this distinction, following the retirement of veteran Edmond Ho. Chan's basketball journey began in secondary school and continued through college, where he played at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He recently earned his 3x3 C Licence after passing an officiating test in Wuhan. In addition to refereeing, Chan works as an electronics product manager. He emphasizes the importance of fairness in officiating, stating that referees strive to ensure matches are conducted justly.
