Hong Kong martial arts star Chen Kuan Tai dies at 80

Hong Kong martial arts star Chen Kuan Tai died on Sept 2 at age 80 after reportedly suffering a cerebral haemorrhage, following a recent hospitalisation for hydrocephalus. His apprentice shared the news, with reports indicating he suffered a second cardiac arrest at 5am that day and rescue efforts failed. Known as "Brother Tai," he starred in films like Boxer From Shantung and Flying Guillotine. Chen entered the industry in 1969 and became a Shaw Brothers Studio icon over five decades, also working as a producer and director. His final project was 2022's Legendary In Action, and he had lived quietly in Zhongshan, China.
