Honda suspended production at three Japan plants after last week's earthquake badly damaged supplier Astemo's factory, disrupting parts procurement. Astemo expects to resume some operations Friday but no full restart date. An assembly plant in Saitama and two in Mie will halt until August 19, including scheduled summer break. Honda will decide restart timing after reviewing supplier recovery. Toyota, Nissan, and others plan to resume operations in Fukuoka Prefecture and elsewhere.
