Holy Sites in Jerusalem reopen as Holy Fire arrives in Greece

Holy Sites in Jerusalem will reopen on Holy Thursday, April 9, 2026, following a ceasefire in the war with Iran. The sites, including the Western Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and Temple Mount, were closed since February 28. The transfer of the Holy Fire to Greece is confirmed and proceeding as usual. A Greek delegation will travel to Jerusalem to receive the Holy Fire, which will then be transported to Greece on Holy Saturday.
