Holmdel boys soccer leans on midfield after ACL losses

Holmdel boys soccer enters the 2026 season with a strong, experienced midfield but faces a significant challenge in scoring after two senior players suffered torn ACL injuries before the season began. Coach Matt Isaacson confirmed that senior forward Lucas Nobrega and senior defender Antonio Zambito are lost for the season, representing major setbacks on both offense and defense. To compensate, senior Jax Londell will move from defense to a defensive midfield role, while sophomore Yaseen Moustafa, junior Dylon Grimaldi, and senior Turner Foster are expected to lead the attack. Holmdel finished 11-7-2 last season, losing to Robbinsville in the state tournament quarterfinals.
