High winds may close lanes on Auckland Harbour Bridge tomorrow

Strong winds are expected to disrupt travel across the Auckland Harbour Bridge tomorrow, with possible lane closures, according to the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi. An orange strong wind warning is in effect for Wellington and Wairarapa, with severe gale northwesterlies gusting up to 130km/h in exposed places. Heavy rain and snowfall warnings have also been issued for parts of the South Island. The weather is driven by a low-pressure system developing in the Tasman Sea, bringing widespread downpours. Auckland may reach 18C, while Christchurch sees late teens before rain on Sunday.
