Heavy vehicle fitness checks move from Meerut RTO to private centers in other districts

Heavy vehicle fitness checks have moved from Meerut's RTO office to private centers in other districts. This change follows a central government mandate for automated testing stations, effective April 1, 2025, with Uttar Pradesh implementing it for all RTOs from January 1, 2026. While small vehicle fitness checks continue at the Meerut RTO, authorities are seeking approval to resume heavy vehicle checks locally.
