Heat dome prompts Con Edison to ask customers to conserve energy

A heat dome is causing extreme temperatures, leading Con Edison to urge energy conservation for 89,000 customers. The utility is reducing voltage by 8% in parts of Southern Westchester and the Northeast Bronx to protect equipment during repairs. Customers are asked to limit use of appliances, air conditioning, and electric vehicle charging until repairs are completed.
