Hawke’s Bay Airport will allow the public to run on its runway to celebrate its 60th anniversary. The event is scheduled for February 1, between the last two flights of the day. This fun run is part of a series of anniversary events, including a photo competition and a new kids' play area. Entries for the 4km run close on January 20. More than a third of the available slots for the run have already been filled, according to the airport's marketing manager.
