Haveri district begins cloud seeding July 7 to combat monsoon deficit

Haveri district will begin cloud seeding on July 7, funded by six local MLAs, to combat scanty monsoon rains. The Rs 15 lakh per hour exercise, approved by the DGCA, will use aircraft operated from Hubballi airport after pilot training. Farmers are demanding wider intervention due to drought fears in North Karnataka. This initiative follows previous cloud seeding efforts in the district and other parts of the state, with the government now considering a statewide program.
