Haryana mandates e-office across all government departments
The Haryana government has made the e-Office system mandatory for all official file processing across its departments, boards, corporations, and district offices, as directed by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi. This move mandates a full shift to digital workflows for all government correspondence. The e-Office platform, developed by the National Informatics Centre, aims to enable paperless, transparent, and accountable administration. Departments are now required to complete user creation, arrange digital signatures, train employees, and set up necessary IT infrastructure, with administrative secretaries and deputy commissioners responsible for implementation. Haryana has used the e-Office system since 2017, rolling it out in phases. The government reports the system has improved efficiency, reduced delays, and enhanced record management, and this new directive seeks to standardize digital governance practices across all state offices.
