Harry Brook banned from IPL for two years
Harry Brook has received a two-year ban from the Indian Premier League (IPL) after he opted out of IPL 2025, despite being selected by the Delhi Capitals. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has communicated this decision to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The ban follows a new rule stating that players who withdraw after being picked in the auction will be banned for two seasons. Brook was bought for Rs 6.25 crore but chose to prioritize his commitments to the England cricket team. Brook announced his decision on social media, citing the need to recharge after a busy period in his career. He emphasized his focus on preparing for upcoming international series, including a home Test series against India and the Ashes.
