Harrison: Vandal damages contractor's van at funeral home
A contractor's work van was vandalized overnight at Vereb Funeral Home in Harrison, where the owner faces felony charges. The van was struck with an object, likely a baseball bat, in the parking lot. The funeral home owner, Patric Vereb, is accused of stealing $660,000 from customers for pet cremations that never occurred. He is also accused of providing incorrect ashes to customers. The Attorney General's Office has urged peaceful protests, as Vereb waived his preliminary hearing and is scheduled for arraignment on June 18. Police are investigating the vandalism.
