Harris County extends early voting hours on Halloween to boost turnout

Harris County has extended early voting hours on Halloween. Polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Residents can vote early until Friday, when hours will return to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. So far, 34% of registered voters in Harris County have participated in early voting. This includes both in-person and mail-in ballots. The county clerk noted that early voting numbers need to increase significantly in the final days. Voters must bring a government-issued ID to the polls. METRO is offering free round-trip rides for those with a voter ID. There have been no major issues reported during the early voting period.
