Hania Rani premieres atmospheric new works, "Shining" and "Non Fiction"

Polish composer Hania Rani premiered two new works, "Shining" and "Non Fiction," showcasing atmospheric and absorbing storytelling. "Shining," inspired by a Jon Fosse story, featured minimalist textures and motoric rhythms. "Non Fiction," a piano concerto, explored themes of resilience inspired by a Warsaw Ghetto pianist's sketchbooks. While "Shining" captivated, "Non Fiction" suffered from balance issues, with the piano often drowned out by the orchestra.
