Hamirpur panchayat makes migrant worker registration mandatory in Chakmoh

The gram panchayat of Chakmoh in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, has mandated that all migrant workers must register within 30 days or be barred from working in the area. Unregistered workers will face legal action. Registration must be completed with the panchayat pradhan, up-pradhan, or ward member. Required documents include an Aadhaar card, a character certificate from the worker's home state, police verification, and a landlord's affidavit if renting. Panchayat Pradhan Som Datt Sharma stated the decision aims to maintain law and order and create a record of migrant workers. He has appealed to contractors, landlords, and workers to comply within the deadline.
