Half of companies boost resources to tackle geopolitical risks, ACC survey shows

A new report from the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) reveals that 50% of companies have increased resources to manage geopolitical risks over the past five years. The survey included 200 law department leaders from U.S. organizations. Respondents identified 72 countries as posing significant geopolitical risks, with China, Russia, Mexico, and the U.S. among the top concerns. Companies are particularly focused on protecting intellectual property and sensitive data. Many firms are enhancing their risk management strategies, with 49% initiating new due diligence processes. In contrast, 53% of respondents plan to stop engagements with Russia, while only 10% intend to cease dealings with China.
