A hacker successfully ran an old version of Mac OS X on a Nintendo Wii console. Developer Bryan Keller ported Mac OS X 10.0 (Cheetah) to the 2006 gaming device, motivated by skepticism. The Wii's PowerPC chip is similar to older Macs, aiding the porting process. Keller created a custom boot loader, patched the kernel, and wrote new drivers, even enabling USB input for mouse and keyboard.
