Habagat brings heavy rain to western Luzon, Visayas as Maymay weakens to LPA

newsinfo.inquirer.net

The enhanced southwest monsoon will bring heavy rainfall across parts of the Philippines, as former tropical depression Maymay weakened into a low-pressure area, state weather bureau Pagasa said. Typhoon Dolphin, outside the Philippine area of responsibility, is intensifying the monsoon, bringing rain to western Luzon and Visayas through the weekend. Heavy rainfall warnings cover Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro; orange warnings include Metro Manila. Dolphin will not enter Philippine waters and is moving toward mainland China. The Maymay low-pressure area, east of Isabela, is expected to dissipate into Dolphin's trough.
