Gurugram e-bus trial awaits central agency team

Gurugram's electric bus final trial is pending the arrival of a central agency team, which will assess the vehicle's operational performance on city roads. Only one e-bus has arrived at the GMCL depot so far, and the successful trial is a prerequisite for receiving 24 additional buses. The trial will involve driving the e-bus with weight equivalent to its seating capacity to identify any issues on Gurugram's roads. Officials from the bus supplier will observe these problems, and GMCL is in contact with the agency to expedite the process. A charging station with 18 points is being built at the Sector-10 depot. GMCL is expected to receive 25 e-buses in the first phase, with the remaining buses arriving only after the trial is complete. The trial will help identify and resolve any issues before the new buses are dispatched, according to Dinesh Kumar, Manager at Intact Transport.
