Guntur Municipal Corporation aims to complete land acquisition for new road over bridge by February

The Guntur Municipal Corporation plans to finish land acquisition for a new Road Over Bridge (ROB) by the end of February. This bridge will replace the existing Sankar Vilas ROB, which currently handles over 60% of city traffic. A second ROB will be built on the Inner Ring Road to connect the city with the National Highway. Both projects aim to alleviate traffic congestion for the next thirty years, with costs estimated at ₹98 crore and ₹107.79 crore, respectively. The Ministry of Railways has instructed the South Central Railway to complete necessary steps before tendering for the Inner Ring Road ROB. Meanwhile, the Guntur Municipal Corporation is addressing land issues related to both projects.
