Greek citizens obtain personal numbers; discrepancies emerge
Over 337,000 citizens have obtained a Personal Number, a digital key for interactions with public services, with over 96,000 discrepancies found in their records. This new system aims to streamline and improve government services. The Personal Number allows citizens to access and verify their government-held data, including names, dates of birth, and key identification numbers. Discrepancies have primarily been identified in names and birthdates, with the most issues in AMKA, AFM, and ID records. The initiative, launched by the Digital Governance Ministry, aims to create a unified and accurate view of citizen data, improving efficiency and transparency. The Personal Number will also be included on new ID cards, enhancing security and simplifying identification.
