Greece's Spiti mou II program delivers 14,100 first homes

Greece's "Spiti mou II" housing program has concluded, with 14,114 loan contracts signed totaling 1.54 billion euros, enabling beneficiaries to acquire a first home. The program's contracting phase ended on August 31, 2026, managed by the Hellenic Development Bank. Loans were 50% interest-free using Recovery and Resilience Facility funds, with the remaining 50% covered by participating credit institutions. A total of 15,097 loans worth 1.82 billion euros were approved, representing 94.5% of the program's budget, with an average loan amount of 120,400 euros. The announcement was made jointly by the Ministries of National Economy and Finance and Social Cohesion and Family. Property purchases under the program exceeded 2.15 billion euros in total value.
