Greece's power cable project is progressing despite challenges
Greece's Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis announced that the electricity cable project linking Greece, Cyprus, and Israel is progressing despite setbacks. The 1.9-billion-euro project aims to connect the three nations' power grids via a submarine cable. The Great Sea Interconnector will span 1,210 kilometers and reach depths of 3,000 meters. It has faced challenges, including financial disagreements and maritime boundary disputes with Turkey. Gerapetritis emphasized the project's importance for energy security and the integration of renewable energy sources in the region and Europe.
