Greece strengthens military power with arrival of Rafale jets from France
Greece has completed the acquisition of 24 Rafale fighter jets, enhancing its air force capabilities. The last aircraft arrived at Tanagra Air Base on January 9, 2025, following a non-stop flight from France. The Rafale jets are equipped with advanced technology and are now operational with Greece's 332nd Squadron. This development positions Greece as a more formidable military power in the region amid ongoing tensions with Turkey. Greece is also pursuing the purchase of 20 F-35 Lightning II jets from the U.S., further boosting its air defense. The acquisition of these advanced aircraft is seen as a significant step in Greece's military strategy.
