Government approval delays Coimbatore bus stand redevelopment

Coimbatore's Gandhipuram Central Bus Stand redevelopment, costing ₹30 crore, is delayed pending technical approval from the state government. The project, designed by A PLUS R Architects, includes 90 modern bus bays, commercial shops, and underground parking, aiming to address current issues like lack of seating and poor sanitation. The detailed project report, vetted by IIT Madras, has been submitted. The bus stand, a crucial transport hub, currently faces challenges like waterlogging and structural damage, with funds secured and work expected to commence upon sanction.
